Get ready for the Carlsberg Danish Quarter at Reading, bringing you a taste of Copenhagen
It’s hard to improve the greatest music festival on the planet. With a world-beating line up and passionate audience, Reading Festival is already the highlight of every summer. It’s the one weekend of the year where nothing but the music (and a cold beer) matters.
But Carlsberg are always striving for better. It’s why they rebrewed from head to hop to create a better beer. And why they will be bringing their Danish Quarter back to Reading for the third consecutive year this August.
So when you need to find a seat, grab a beer and charge your phone, come find the Danish Quarter and relax a while. Check out the stylish Scandi surroundings. Choose one of many seats and plug into the phone charging stations. Or just sample a perfectly balanced Danish Pilsner and plan which band you want to see next.
If even that sounds like too much hard work, we’ve taken care of that too. Carlsberg will be hosting exclusive live performances so you can stay a while but know you’re not missing out on the music. Hotly tipped South Coast four-piece Wild Front will kick things off on Friday with dreamy indie that has drawn comparisons with the like of The 1975. Next up on Saturday is Brighton’s soulful superstar-in-waiting Iyamah, aka Sophie Bond, who has already toured with Mahalia and released singles including ‘Seasons’ and ‘Cryptic Love’. Finally, Sunday will see South Londoner Abisha take the stage in the Danish Quarter with her coolly restrained alt-R&B to a backing of barely-there-beats. And each and every day, our handpicked selection of unmissable DJs will take over afterwards to keep the party going long into the night.
Because in the Danish Quarter, only the very best is good enough. That’s just the Carlsberg way.
