Billie Eilish drops ‘WHEN I WAS OLDER’ & says what we were all thinking
Billie is killing 2019 and it’s only just begun.
We’re only 9 days into 2019 and Billie’s already graced the cover of NME and dropped a brand new song inspired by the Netflix movie ‘ROMA’. Never heard of it? Get in your lane and learn, it’s been described as “a vivid, emotional portrait of a domestic worker’s journey set against domestic and political turmoil in 1970s Mexico.”
‘WHEN I WAS OLDER’ is dripping with Billie’s signature dark, experimental pop that we’ve been aching for more of, get your ears around it below.
Didn’t think you could love Billie any more? The new release comes off the back of her in-depth interview with NME where she spoke about the expectations of her and young people around the world. We’ve picked out three inspirational quotes to get your new year off to a very Eilish start.
“Bro, teenagers know more about the country that we’re living in right now than anybody,”
She has a point.
“People underestimate the power of a young mind that is new to everything and experiencing for the first time. We’re being ignored and it’s so dumb.”
Never underestimate.
“The world is ending and I honestly don’t understand the law that says you have to be older to vote, because they’re going to die soon and we’ll have to deal with it. That doesn’t make any sense to me,” she says. “But to see young people taking part in peaceful protests and not obeying is beautiful.”
Someone start the petition going to make Billie Prime Minister.
Billie takes to the stage on Saturday at this year’s festival! We can finally say that now it’s 2019, you don’t know how much easier that makes it for us.
